The Lord and His Promise
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness,
but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all
should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
God has a plan and nothing will
stop it. The Lord has a promise and it
will come to pass. God sent His only Son
Jesus so that none would perish but that all would repent and receive Jesus as
Lord and Savior. He is not slack on this
promise.
This is why we pray and this is
what we pray. We pray for those the Lord
is waiting on. By His prevenient grace,
God draws people to Himself. We love Him
only because He first loved us, according to 1 John. We bring ourselves to this particular work of
prayer for the lost to be found. For all
those who have received God’s invitation to be part of the banquet, may today
be the day of salvation. Lord, continue
to draw Your people with cords of lovingkindness. Father, be the lifter of their heads today,
that those who do not know You may find You.
Reveal Yourself this day Lord Jesus, because You are not slack
concerning Your promise. This is our
prayer today, so that others may know that You and You alone are God.
