Praise the Lord!
“Praise the
Lord. Praise, O servants of the Lord,
praise the name of the Lord. Let the
name of the Lord be praised, both now and forevermore. From the rising of the sun to the place where
it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.” Ps. 113:1-3
Hallal! Hallal
Yah! The Praise the Lord! We are called to praise Him, to magnify and
extol the Lord. Notice the connection between
praising and the name of the Lord. His
name is a reflection of His nature and character and desire to act on behalf of
His people. We praise Him as Provider,
Sustainer, Creator, Father and so much more.
We are to praise continually. The Psalmist writes “both now and
forevermore” we are to praise Him. Can
we stop what we are doing right now and praise the Lord? Can we praise Him in what we are doing? As the sun rises, we praise Him – our Great
and Wondrous God. At noonday we praise
Him. As the sun takes its rightful place
that the Creator designed for it, we praise God. We praise Him because He is God – not because
of us, but because of Him.
Think of all that God has done in your life. Praise Him, Praise the Lord!
