Repenting and Relenting

“and if they have a change of heart in the land where they are held captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captors and say, ‘We have sinned, we have done wrong, we have acted wickedly’; and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their enemies who took them captive…” 1 Kings 8:47-48

Father in heaven, thank You for Your Promises, and for Your Word.  Thank You that You are a forgiving God, we implore You on behalf of the children of our world, forgive us our sins, we turn to You, each of us, with all of our heart and soul; show us Your Mercy, oh God right here, today.  We want to serve You, Lord, we are willing, make us Your spokespersons as we declare Your hope, love, and mercy on children in every corner of the globe.  Pour Your thoughts into us, Lord, teach us in the way everlasting.  Look upon us, Lord with favor for we honor you, we desire to pray in a manner that is worthy of You, oh God, for You alone are deserving.  Receive our prayer to Your Glory, lead us in all Truth, Father, wipe out our sin, refresh and restore this city, communities and families.  We come in sorrow, may that sorrow, Lord, lead us to salvation, change hearts and may Your Kingdom come through us, in us and around us.

We repent for the sins of the world.  We come before You God, You who are Holy, Just and True.  We openly state that we have sinned and the sin patterns of gangs, violence, and death have been over this city for generations.  We repent on behalf of all those who have gone before us in opposition to Your ways, O Lord.  We confess and repent of the prostitution of women and girls.  We pray for solutions to:

    • Street Prostitution
    • Off-Street prostitution activities
    • Escort Services
    • Massage Parlors
    • Exotic Dancing
    • Sex for Drugs

God we recognize that families have been shattered as a result of not simply crime, but the root of crime.  Lord we pray  that the years lost, the time and special moments missed, would not overwhelm the hearts of parents and children, but hope would increase and a longing to build precious new memories would ignite their spirits, and cause them to even encourage one another.  Pray that laughter increases, times of joy frequent them.   We pray in the Name above all names, Christ Jesus, our Lord.
